Recycling
Portland trash collectors offer curbside pick up of paper, metal, glass, and certain plastic containers. In order to reduce our contributions to the landfill even more, we collect soft and hard plastics and deliver them ourselves to Far West Fibers. We also collect styrofoam. When we moved here in February 2009, there was a huge dumpster that the former apartment buildings used. After a few months, the trash company replaced the huge dumpster with a petite one, and added more blue recycling bins.
