Participation
We require all adults to put in participation hours each month so that we can maintain and grow our community. We also require each adult to participate in quarterly work parties.
Luckily, since we are a large group of people and have many tasks to do, most people can choose tasks they enjoy and/or want to learn. Do you thrive on gardening? Want to learn about water catchment? Beekeeping? Are you curious about how to facilitate? Want to try your hand on the board of directors? Plan community events? Like to hang out with children? It is nearly limitless.
Our community values the need for flexibility and individual circumstances. Members may spread their participation hours over a 3-month period to allow for flexibility of monthly schedules. We also have a policy of bartering for hours, where members can make arrangements with other members for their work. Members can also bank up to 3 months of hours to be used for vacations and other extended circumstances, buy or trade hours from each other. We also assist members with special circumstances (ie. new baby, illness etc) to make arrangements for their participation requirements
