Gardening
Gardening is a large part of life at CEV. Each of the ground floor units have an area of land in front of their patios to use as they wish and most have started gardens of all kinds. We also maintain all the plantings along the parking lots.
Individual Garden Plots: Everyone who wants to can get an individual garden plot. This coming season they are about 3 x 21 ft and are sited on the upper garden. Since so many of our members are experienced and enthusiastic gardeners, they are mentoring the newer gardeners.
Common Garden: Over the last year, we have worked to take back the field from grass. We sheet mulched, added over crop and layered it with leaves and compost. This large garden, 30 x 40 ft, will be our community garden, where we will grow food for the common meals.
